Explorations in the Concept of Social Accountability
The paper attempts to illustrate an indigenous framework and theory of social accountability that has emerged from collaborations with citizen campaigns and Governments, from initiatives in Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Kerala, Delhi amongst other States. It intends to make a modest beginning towards building a discourse on a theory of social accountability based on practice, and facilitate a conversation on its essential elements, challenges and opportunities.
