The Bihar Right to Public Grievance Redressal Act - An Analysis
This paper analyses the Bihar Right to Public Grievance Redressal Act (BPGRA) as a pioneering grievance redress legislation. It presents the context of the significance of this legislation, as well as the architecture of its implementation. It puts forward a perspective of its functioning from analysing official data and the experiences of citizens in using this law, based on intensive grievance filing camps and tracking done by civil society organisations. Based on this, it puts forward policy recommendations to improve the law and learnings for the practice of social accountability.
