Social Security Provisioning in Bihar: A Case for Universal Old Age Pension
This article is focused on the Pension scheme for elderly citizens of Bihar. Indira Gandhi National Old-age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) which cater the need of population above 60 is part umbrella scheme known as National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). The article has three dimensions, one analyse the total allocation under NSAP and IGNOAPS and another dealt with the estimate allocation required for universal coverage in Bihar. Article also tries to look at the scope to improve the revenue collection of Bihar to meet the demand of universal coverage.
