An Explanatory Analysis of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0
To address the nutritional challenges of children, in 2021, Government of India launched Mission Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0. The new programme is a merger of Anganwadi Services, POSHAN Abhiyan, and Scheme for Adolescent Girls. The implementation period of this restructured scheme is 15th Finance Commission period i.e, 2021-22 to 2025-26. Post rationalisation, as the scheme is getting implemented with the new guidelines, this paper tries to explore whether there is any change in the planning, budgeting and implementation of the scheme which could have created an enabling environment for better delivery of nutrition services in the country.
