Policy Measures for Reducing Possible Regressive Impacts of a Carbon Tax in India
Our work on "Assessing the Feasibility of Instituting an Inclusive Carbon Tax Policy in India" aims to understand measures for bringing inclusiveness to a prospective carbon tax policy for India, among other important issues. This discussion paper suggests policy measures for reducing regressive impacts of carbon tax and inclusive transition. This paper discusses possible regressive impacts for India and suggests way forward based on learnings from various countries’ experiences with carbon tax.
