National Consultation on 'Budget Justice: Agenda for the Next Five Years' 14 September, 2018

People's Budget Initiative (PBI) has organised a National Consultation on “Budget Justice: Agenda for the Next Five Years” on 14th September 2018 at Vishwa Yuvak Kendra (Address: 8, Teen Murti Marg, Diplomatic Enclave, Teen Murti Marg Area, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi -110010).

The consultation aimed at developing an Agenda for PBI on ‘Budget Justice’ for the Next Five Years. As the country is gearing up for the upcoming Elections both at the Centre and in a few States in 2019, efforts are being made by PBI to review the last four years of the current dispensation and assess people’s expectations from the new governments. In this regard, six State Consultations on ‘People’s Expectations on Budgetary Priorities’ were held in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh over the period July to September 2018.

In order to consolidate the expectations emerging from all the State Consultations and to bring in the national perspective, PBI organised a day-long National Consultation in New Delhi on 14th September 2018. We aim to compile all these demands and develop a ‘People’s Agenda’ that will be shared with Manifesto Committees of various political parties.
