Roundtables on Building an Inclusive and Cohesive Public Climate Financing Framework in Jharkhand and Rajasthan November, 2022

The Roundtables were organised to present the results of the research study to unlock the existing framework for public financing of climate action and  clean energy in the States of Rajasthan and Jharkhand. This CBGA study was executed  by analysing several relevant government policies. Our analysis identified climate-related programs and measures and tracked the fiscal expenditures of different sectors in recent years. We also evaluated some of the existing programs that add value, such as the PM-KUSUM program and other programs related to eligibility from the inclusion lens, to ensure consistency (and inclusion) in strategies to accelerate climate finance. Suggestions were made to  bring cohesiveness (as well as inclusiveness) in policies for accelerating climate finance. The Rountables provided a forum for discussing the opportunities and challenges that Rajasthan and Jharkhand face in low-carbon development.
