Our work on "Assessing the Feasibility of Instituting an Inclusive Carbon Tax Policy in India" aims at understanding the need for and trade-offs of a carbon tax, among other important issues. This policy note proposes measures to decouple economic growth from CO2 emissions. It includes data on GDP reliance on fossil fuel taxes and subsidies, examines resource mobilisation through taxation to meet Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) targets, and suggests a carbon tax policy for green economic growth, highlighting opportunities to reduce the carbon intensity of GDP.
