The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020

Rajya Sabha on 22nd September, 2020 passed The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 with provisions to remove commodities like cereals, pulses, oil seeds, edible oils, onion and potatoes from the list of essential commodities. The Bill replaces the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020.
