The 71st round of NSS, conducted during January - June 2014, aimed to generate basic quantitative information on the health sector. One of the vital components of the schedule was dedicated to collecting information which was relevant for determination of the prevalence rate of different diseases among various age-sex groups in different regions of the country. Further, measurement of the extent of use of health services provided by the Government was an indispensable part of this exercise.

The report presents the survey findings in more detail, with temporal comparison with the earlier NSSO survey results on similar subjects, wherever appropriate. The report consists of five chapters and four appendices.
