'Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan' was launched and it aimed to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates through safe pregnancies and safe deliveries. It will provide free health check-ups to pregnant women at government health centres and hospitals.
It also invites the private sector to provide free ante-natal services on the 9th of every month on a voluntary basis to pregnant women, especially those living in under-served, semi-urban, poor and rural areas.
It intends not only to provide quantity healthcare but also quality healthcare.
