Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued a notification on June 13th, 2018 notifying the Companies (Significant Beneficial Owners) Rules, 2018 along with Section 90 of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2017 to counter illicit activities, financial secrecy, avoidance and evasion of laws and rules and regulations by companies.
