Amita’s areas of research interest include Public Finance, Macro Economics and Time Series data. She possesses understanding of expenditure and revenue components at aggregate and disaggregate level of Indian government. She has been working with fiscal multipliers, MGNREGA and Social Accounting Matrix of village economy. At CBGA, her work focuses on enhancing budget transparency and accountability in India.

Previously, she was working as Young Professional in Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for two years. She also worked as a Research Assistant for “Analysis of State Finances of Delhi” with Fifth Delhi Finance Commission. She worked as an Assistant Professor in degree college at Mahandergarh district, Haryana. She has also qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET).

Amita has completed her Masters and M.Phil degree from Central University of Haryana. She has completed her Ph.D. in Economics from Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
