Mitali Gupta is working as a Senior Policy Analyst with CBGA. Her areas of research interest lie in the domain of Development Economics (pertaining to the issues of informal sector, subcontracting and non-standard forms of Employment) and Cultural Economics (policy advocacy aiming at revivalist and innovative Strategies to sustain the rich cultural heritage and artisanal communities of India). She has an astute sense of grasping social and economic issues and has an immense passion for working towards the upliftment of marginalised sections of the society.

Prior to joining CBGA, she has worked with the Giri Institute of Development Studies (GIDS), Lucknow, Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai and Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), New Delhi in various capacities. During her tenure at the above institutions she has also taught the subjects of Development Economics, Indian Economy and Law and Economics. She has done her Ph. D. in Economics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on the topic ‘Unorganised Manufacturing Sector in Post-Reform India’.
