Sanchari’s areas of research interest include regional development, urban governance, social welfare and poverty. She possesses understanding of the development geography and has worked on the rural-urban dichotomy and the idea of place-making of the urban poor with a special emphasis on the relation between the sense of place and the current trend of urban development. She has also been a visiting Junior Scientist at the University of Cologne, Germany. Currently, at CBGA, she has joined as a Policy Analyst and is working for enhancing the budget accountability in India.
Prior to CBGA, she was engaged with the International water Management Institute (IWMI) as a research analyst and was responsible for qualitative data management. Sanchari has completed her Ph.D. and M.Phil from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
