Government Financing of Secondary Education for Girls
CBGA has collaborated with Child Rights and You (CRY) and carried out a study on strengthening the discourse on public provisioning of secondary education for girls. Based on the study, a series of four state specific case studies has been developed.
These case studies discuss some progressive policy initiatives by the State governments of Karnataka, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Delhi for promoting secondary education of girls. The state of secondary education and girls-specific measures were explored. Further, recent patterns of budgetary allocation for secondary education and gender-responsiveness in the budgeting have been examined thoroughly for each State. Based on the findings, policy imperatives are suggested for improving girls' participation as well as completion of secondary level education in the respective States.
